NEW YORK, April 21 (UPI) -- The NHL announced Thursday Anaheim forward Jarkko Ruutu would be suspended for the fifth game of the Ducks' playoff series against Nashville.

The suspension resulted from a late hit Ruutu made on Nashville forward Martin Erat 4 minutes into the second period of Anaheim's 6-3 win on Wednesday.

Ruutu was given a 2-minute penalty for interference on the play. He has appeared in only two of the four games played to date in the series and has yet to take a shot.
