NBA: Miami 100, Philadelphia 94

PHILADELPHIA, April 21 (UPI) -- LeBron James touched off a key run early in the fourth period with a 3-pointer Thursday and the Miami Heat fought off Philadelphia 100-94.

The Heat has built a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series, which Miami can bring to a close Sunday in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia held a two-point lead at the start of the fourth period but James made his 3-pointer exactly 1 minute into the quarter to put the Heat in front for good. They went on to produce a 15-4 run.

The 76ers could not manage their fifth point of the final period until just 5:14 remained in the game.

Dwyane Wade led the way for Miami with 32 points and 10 rebounds. He made 10-of-19 shots from the field and all 12 of his free throw attempts.

James added 24 points, 15 rebounds and six assists while Chris Bosh scored 19 points.

Philadelphia was paced by Elton Brand with 21 points. The 76ers have not been swept in a playoff series since 1999.
