MLB: LA Dodgers 5, Atlanta 3 (12 innings)

LOS ANGELES, April 21 (UPI) -- Matt Kemp belted a two-run home run in the 12th inning Thursday to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a 5-3 win over Atlanta.

Andre Ethier stroked a one-out double off reliever Cristhian Martinez (0-1) just before Kemp's home run gave the Dodgers their third win in four games against the Braves. LA got solo homers from Casey Blake and Juan Uribe, and Blake's RBI single in the ninth created a 3-3 tie that sent the game into extra innings.

Matt Guerrier (1-0) got the win after holding Atlanta scoreless on two hits over the final two innings.

Freddie Freeman hit a solo home run and David Ross drove in two for Braves, who lost for the sixth time in their last nine games. Starting pitcher Jair Jurrjens allowed one run on seven hits with two walks and six strikeouts over six innings.

Dodgers' starter Clayton Kershaw was one out away from a complete game when he loaded the bases in the ninth on singles by Chipper Jones and Dan Uggla and a walk to Freeman, before allowing the single by Ross that put the Braves ahead 3-2.
