LOS ANGELES, April 20 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Braves provided plenty of offense for Brandon Beachy, who earned his first career victory Tuesday with a 10-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Beachy (1-1) pitched six shutout innings in his fourth start of the season. He gave up two hits and two walks and struck out seven.
Hiroki Kuroda (2-2) took the loss after surrendering two runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings. Kenley Jansen and Ramon Trancoso were lit up in the ninth for eight runs on eight hits, including two homers.
The Braves outhit Los Angeles 14-5 and scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings on home runs by Prado and Freeman to take a 2-1 lead into the ninth.
