MLB: Baltimore 11, Minnesota 0

BALTIMORE, April 19 (UPI) -- Jake Arrieta handcuffed the Twins with six shutout innings Tuesday, helping the Baltimore Orioles end an eight-game losing skid with an 11-0 rout of Minnesota.

Arrieta (2-1) yielded only four hits, walking three and fanning four for the O's, who logged their first win since April 9.

Jason Berken hurled two scoreless frames and Josh Rupe completed the shutout with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Matt Wieters led Baltimore's 13-hit attack, driving in four runs on a pair of hits, while Vladimir Guerrero and Brian Roberts each contributed three RBI on two hits.

Carl Pavano (1-2) absorbed the loss for the short-handed Twins, who were playing without sluggers Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Delmon Young. The Minnesota starter was torched for eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings.

The Twins lost for the seventh time in 10 games.
