MLB: Kansas City 7, Seattle 0

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 16 (UPI) -- Sean O'Sullivan and three relievers teamed up for a seven-hit shutout Saturday and the Kansas City Royals posted a 7-0 whitewash of Seattle.

O'Sullivan (1-1), making his first start of the year, tossed five scoreless innings against the punchless Mariners, surrendering five hits, walking two and striking out four.

Tim Collins, Jeremy Jeffress and Aaron Crow combined for four shutout frames to finish up and hand the Royals their 10th win in 14 games to start the season.

Alex Gordon went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored, and Mike Aviles drove in three runs on two hits to provide the Royals' offense.

Seattle starter Felix Hernandez (1-2) was roughed up for five runs (two earned) on six hits over five innings.

Jack Cust, Luis Rodriguez and Brendan Ryan each collected two hits in the M's loss.
