MLB: Cincinnati 11, Pittsburgh 2

CINCINNATI, April 16 (UPI) -- Ramon Hernandez hit a grand slam to highlight a seven-run fifth inning Saturday that carried the Cincinnati Reds to an 11-2 victory over Pittsburgh.

Drew Stubbs added a two-run homer and Juan Francisco contributed a run-scoring single in the big inning for Cincinnati, which broke a two-game losing streak and evened its four-game series with the Pirates at a game apiece.

Hernandez finished with three hits, Jonny Gomes drove in three runs with a pair of homers, and Joey Votto went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the Reds' 15-hit attack.

Mike Leake (2-0) earned the win, allowing two runs on four hits over six innings, walking four and striking out six.

Pirates starter James McDonald (0-1) was raked for seven runs (six earned) on nine hits in just 4 1/3 innings of work.

Garrett Jones collected a pair of hits and an RBI for Pittsburgh.
