MLB: Chicago Cubs 8, Colorado 3

DENVER, April 16 (UPI) -- Starlin Castro homered and doubled among his four hits Saturday, driving in three runs to spark the Chicago Cubs' 8-3 victory over Colorado.

Alfonso Soriano added three hits, including a solo homer, and two RBI for the Cubs, who evened their three-game series against the Rockies at a game apiece.

Darwin Barney contributed a pair of doubles and drove in a run in Chicago's 17-hit attack.

Casey Coleman (1-0) earned the victory, allowing only one run on four hits in a 5 2/3-inning start, walking three and striking out three for the Cubs.

Jason Hammel (1-1) surrendered three runs on seven hits through six-plus innings for the National League West-leading Rockies, whose six-game winning streak was snapped.

Chris Iannetta belted a two-run homer and Troy Tulowitzki added an RBI for Colorado.
