DALLAS, April 8 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki rallied Dallas by scoring 16 of his 20 points in the second half Friday, sending the Mavericks to a 107-96 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Dallas had lost four in a row, a streak that reduced its lead over Oklahoma City to a single game in the scramble for the third seed in the Western Conference. The Thunder stayed within a game of the Mavericks by downing Denver.
The Clippers led by as many as 16 points late in the third period, but Dallas took an 11-point advantage during the third. After the Clippers closed within one in the fourth period, the Mavericks went on an 8-0 run to put the game away.
Corey Brewer also scored 20 for Dallas while both J.J. Barea and Tyson Chandler had 15.
Mo Williams led the Clippers with 29 points.
