NHL: Anaheim 6, San Jose 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 7 (UPI) -- Corey Perry produced a hat trick Wednesday in sparking Anaheim to a 6-2 win over San Jose that moved the Ducks to the brink of a playoff berth.

Anaheim's win eliminated Calgary from playoff contention and kept the Ducks tied with Chicago for the final two post-season spots in the Western Conference.

Chicago and Anaheim both have 95 points with two games remaining. They have a four-point lead over Dallas, which has three games left.

Perry opened the scoring with 7:02 left in the first period and his goal 6:46 into the second stanza gave Anaheim a 3-0 lead.

After Dan Boyle got one back for the Sharks, Perry completed his hat trick with 9:03 left in the second.

Perry leads the NHL with 50 goals and has 96 points, four behind Daniel Sedin of Vancouver for the league's top spot in that category.

Anaheim starting goaltender Ray Emery left the game for unannounced reasons in the second period after giving up a goal on 23 shots. Dan Ellis finished up, making 13 saves.

All six Anaheim goals came against Antero Niittymaki on 34 shots. San Jose had won its previous four games. The Sharks maintained a one-point lead over Detroit for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
