BALTIMORE, April 6 (UPI) -- Baltimore Orioles pitcher Jeremy Guthrie has been released from a hospital after being treated for pneumonia, Manager Buck Showalter said Wednesday.

The 31-year-old right-hander was hospitalized for two nights and is tentatively scheduled to start Sunday against the Texas Rangers, MLB.com reported.

The pitcher wrote on his Twitter account, "I'm free! On my way out of hospital & on the road to recovery. Special thanx to the nurses, doctors & my sweet wife. Thanks for your prayers."

Guthrie, the O's opening day pitcher, was scratched from a scheduled start in Wednesday's contest against Detroit and replaced by right-hander Brad Bergesen.
