NBA: Utah 86, Los Angeles Lakers 85

LOS ANGELES, April 6 (UPI) -- Gordon Hayward sank the winning free throw with 6 seconds to play Tuesday to give the Utah Jazz an 86-85 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers committed 19 turnovers, including a muff by Kobe Bryant as he set up for a potential game-winning jumper on the final play of the game.

The Jazz committed 17 turnovers but shot 40 percent from the field to 37.8 percent for the Lakers and went on snap an eight-game losing streak.

The loss was the second in a row for the Lakers on their home court.

Hayward finished with 22 points as did Paul Millsap.

Bryant had 20 points to lead Los Angeles. Pau Gasol added 19 and Andrew Bynum had 12 points and a career-high 23 rebounds.

Los Angeles led 40-34 at halftime.

Utah took an 85-82 lead with 32.3 seconds to play in the game on a pair of free throws by Derrick Favors. But Bryant buried a 3-point shot with 16.2 seconds to play to tie it 85-85.

Bryant fouled Hayward on the next possession and Hayward responded by sinking one of two free throws to put the Jazz ahead to stay.
