MLB: San Diego 3, San Francisco 1

SAN DIEGO, April 5 (UPI) -- Aaron Harang allowed one run over six innings in his San Diego debut Tuesday, propelling the Padres to a 3-1 win over San Francisco.

Harang (1-0), who came to San Diego as a free agent in the off-season after spending parts of the previous eight seasons with Cincinnati, yielded six hits and two walks while striking out six.

Nick Hundley collected three hits and Chris Denorfia went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the Padres took the first of a brief two-game set against the Giants.

Madison Bumgarner (0-1) absorbed the loss for San Francisco, surrendering three runs on five hits through three-plus innings.

Aubrey Huff drove in the Giants' lone run.
