MLS: Houston 1, New York 1 (tie)

HARRISON, N.J., April 2 (UPI) -- Cam Weaver scored in the second half Saturday, pulling the Houston Dynamo into a 1-1 tie with Red Bull New York in Major League Soccer action.

After a scoreless first half, New York took a 1-0 lead when Dane Richards sprinted into the Houston area, cut back past a defender and popped the ball in the back of the net in the 47th minute.

Just 3 minutes later, however, Houston (0-1-2) answered with the tying goal by Weaver, who gathered up the ball behind the defense and punched it over onrushing New York goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul.

The Red Bulls (1-0-2) pressed hard the rest of the way, but Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall kept them at bay.
