NBA: Indiana 89, Milwaukee 88

INDIANAPOLIS, April 1 (UPI) -- Roy Hibbert scored Indiana's final points with 67 seconds to play Friday and the Pacers held on to edge Milwaukee 89-88.

The win lifted Indiana two games in front of Charlotte for the last playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.

With Philadelphia having clinched a post-season spot Friday, just two positions remain in the East. The New York Knicks are in seventh place, three games in front of Indiana.

Hibbert's dunk gave Indiana a three-point lead, after which Milwaukee's John Salmons hit a jumper to bring the Bucks within one.

Milwaukee chose to play defense for the duration of the 24-second shot clock and that move paid off when Darren Collison missed a jumper with 3 seconds to go. The Bucks had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but Drew Gooden misfired on a 3-shot attempt.

Danny Granger had 17 points for Indiana, which let a 14-point lead in the third quarter slip away. Hibbert added 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Pacers have won three in a row, all at home.

Brandon Jennings scored 20 points for the Bucks and Andrew Bogut had 16 before fouling out.
