MLB: Texas 9, Boston 5

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 1 (UPI) -- Pinch-hitter David Murphy smacked a two-run double down the left-field line Friday, triggering a late four-run rally that propelled Texas past Boston 9-5.

After Murphy gave the Rangers the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, Elvis Andrus and Josh Hamilton followed with RBI doubles of their own to pad the margin.

Before the game, the Rangers celebrated their first-ever pennant by raising the 2010 American League championship flag.
