NBA: Atlanta 85, Orlando 82

ATLANTA, March 30 (UPI) -- Josh Smith led Atlanta with 26 points Wednesday and the Hawks survived a last-second miss to defeat Orlando 85-82.

Atlanta downed the Magic in three of their four meetings this year, winning the season series for the first time since 2006-07. The teams are likely to face each other in the opening round of the playoffs, with Orlando holding the home-court advantage.

The Hawks had a six-point lead with less than 4 minutes to play but Orlando climbed within two and Jason Collins missed a chance to clinch the victory when he could make only 1-of-2 foul shots with 6 seconds left.

That gave Orlando an opportunity to force overtime but Hedo Turkoglu misfired on a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.

Joe Johnson scored 18 points and Al Horford had 11 for the Hawks. It was Atlanta's third straight win.

Orlando has dropped two in a row after winning five straight. Jameer Nelson led the Magic with 20 points while Dwight Howard had 17 points and 13 rebounds.
