Fan arrested in alleged attack on Wilkins

ATLANTA, March 30 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Hawks announced Wednesday a fan had been arrested for allegedly attacking nine-time All-Star Dominique Wilkins.

Wilkins is vice president of basketball operations for the Hawks and also serves as a television analyst for the team, which defeated Orlando 85-82 Wednesday.

"The Atlanta Hawks are aware of a post-game altercation involving a fan, who allegedly attacked Dominique Wilkins," said team vice president of public relations Arthur Triche.

"The fan was promptly arrested and taken into custody by the Atlanta police department. At this time, the Hawks have no additional information or comment regarding this situation."

Wilkins scored 26,668 points during his career and won the NBA's All-Star dunk contest twice. He played for the Hawks 13 seasons beginning in 1982. He has been in the team's front office since 2004.
