NBA: Houston 112, New Jersey 87

NEWARK, N.J., March 29 (UPI) -- Kevin Martin fired in 20 points and Kyle Lowrie added 16 Tuesday in the Houston Rockets' 112-87 victory over New Jersey.

Lowrie distributed 10 assists while Patrick Patterson and Goran Dragic each scored 13 points off the bench for the Rockets, who kept their Western Conference playoff hopes alive.

The Rockets moved to within two games of Memphis for the eighth and final post-season berth with the help of 14 rebounds and eight points from Chuck Hayes.

The Nets lost for the seventh time in eight games while playing their sixth straight contest without injured guard Deron Williams.

Brook Lopez paced New Jersey with 22 points.
