Wie returns to women's golf Top 10

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 28 (UPI) -- Michelle Wie's strong finish at the LPGA's Kia Classic allowed her to return to the world women's golf Top 10.

Sandra Gal picked up her first professional win Sunday at the Kia Classic. That boosted her from 100th to No. 44 in the world rankings.

Wie tied for seventh and jumped from 11th to ninth. That shoved Paula Creamer down one spot to 10th while Park Inbee dropped from 10th to 11th. Those three golfers are within 0.07 average ranking points of each other.

The Top 5 finished among the first 10 at the Kia Classic.

Yani Tseng tied for fifth Sunday and remains ranked No. 1 with an average of 11.34 while No. 2 Jiyai Shin (9.93) cut into Tseng's lead with a second-place finish. Cristie Kerr (9.60) is third after tying for third.

Choi Na-yeon, who ended up tied with Tseng Sunday, is fourth with an average of 9.35 and Suzann Pettersen (9.22) is fifth after a tie for 10th at the Kia Classic.

Ai Miyazato (8.08) is sixth ahead of No. 7 Kim In-kyung (7.79) and eighth-ranked Karrie Webb (7.05). Wie's average is 6.62, just ahead of Creamer (6.60) and Park (6.55)
