COL BKB (W): Stanford 72, N. Carolina 65

SPOKANE, Wash., March 27 (UPI) -- Nnemkadi and Chiney Ogwumike combined for 35 points Saturday and Stanford advanced to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight with a 72-65 win over North Carolina.

Nnemkadi Ogwumike pumped in 19 points and her younger sister Chiney added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the top-seeded Cardinal (32-2), who made it to the Elite Eight for the fourth straight year.

The game was close until the Tar Heels committed three turnovers in the final minute and Stanford ended the game on a 7-0 run.

The Cardinal advance to play Gonzaga Monday in the Spokane Region final.

Italee Lucas led fifth-seeded North Carolina (28-9) with 22 points.
