RALEIGH, N.C., March 26 (UPI) -- Simon Gagne scored twice and Dominic Moore got the go-ahead tally Saturday in the Tampa Bay Lightning's 4-2 decision over Carolina.

Moore's goal came off the rebound of a Vincent Lecavalier shot during a Tampa Bay power play with less than 3 minutes remaining in the second period, giving the Bolts a 3-2 lead.

Martin St. Louis added a goal and Mike Smith made 33 saves for the Lightning, who remained seven points behind first-place Washington in the Southeast Division.

Carolina fell five points in back of Buffalo for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Eric Staal and Erik Cole scored and Cam Ward made 28 saves for the Hurricanes.
