NHL: Buffalo 2, New Jersey 0

BUFFALO, N.Y., March 26 (UPI) -- Ryan Miller logged his fifth shutout of the year Saturday, making 30 saves while leading the Buffalo Sabres to a 2-0 victory over New Jersey.

Miller stopped nine shots in the first period, 10 in the second and 11 in the third to boost the Sabres to their third straight win.

Nathan Gerbe and Thomas Vanek each scored for Buffalo, which has 85 points and strengthened its hold on the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Martin Brodeur turned aside 26 shots for the Devils, losers of three straight.
