MLS: Chicago 3, Kansas City 2

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., March 26 (UPI) -- Marco Pappa scored the eventual game-winner in the 60th minute Saturday and the Chicago Fire bested short-handed Sporting Kansas City 3-2.

Diego Chaves gave the Fire (1-0-1) a 1-0 lead from the penalty spot after Sporting's Omar Bravo was sent off with a red card in the 32nd minute.

Gaston Puerari doubled the Fire's lead in the 40th minute and Pappa made it 3-1 Chicago in the second half after driving through four defenders and firing it into the bottom left corner.

Teal Bunbury and Matt Besler scored in the second half for Kansas City (1-1-0), but Sporting wasn't able to get the equalizer over the final 20 minutes.
