MALAGA, Spain, March 26 (UPI) -- Paul Lawrie took the lead at the European Tour's Open de Andalucia Saturday with a third-round score of five-under 65.

Lawrie, a former British Open champion, is seeking his fifth European Tour victory and heads into Sunday's final round at 12-under 198, one stroke ahead of Mark Foster and Kenneth Ferrie.

Ferrie wowed the crowd at Parador de Malaga Golf in Spain with the 16th round of 60 in tour history.

Ferrie called the sizzling round "unspectacular" with a steady stream of good fairway shots and wedges that dropped close to the pin. "You would expect somebody with such a low score to have holed putts and hit spectacular shots, but it was just a very steady round," he said.

Lawrie also was steady with seven pars on the back nine, one of which came when his shot bounced off a spectator on to the 13th green.
