NHL: Toronto 4, Colorado 3

DENVER, March 24 (UPI) -- Nikolai Kulemin scored two of three unanswered Toronto goals Thursday that rallied the Maple Leafs to a 4-3 win over Colorado.

Toronto moved into a tie with Carolina for ninth place in the Eastern Conference, three points behind Buffalo in the battle for the final playoff berth.

Kulemin tied the contest midway through the first period and put the Maple Leafs in front for good with 6 seconds to go in the stanza.

Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel added goals for Toronto with Kessel recording his 29th of the season.

Kessel gave the Maple Leafs a two-goal lead with 16:58 to go in regulation and Matt Duchene brought Colorado within one with 8:06 remaining.

Colorado had won two in a row after going 1-18-2.

James Reimer made 25 saves to get the win. Brian Elliott stopped 23 shots for the Avalanche.
