COL BKB: Brigham Young 89, Gonzaga 67

DENVER, March 20 (UPI) -- Jimmer Fredette hit seven 3-pointers en route to 34 points Saturday, sparking Brigham Young's 89-67 win over Gonzaga in a third-round NCAA tourney game.

Fredette added to his Player of the Year credentials with his performance for the third-seeded Cougars (32-4), who advanced to face second-seeded Florida Thursday in the Southeast Regional.

Jackson Emery (16 points) and Noah Hartsock (13) each connected on a trio of 3-pointers as BYU went 14-of-28 from beyond the arc and shot 52.5 percent from the floor overall.

Gonzaga (25-10) got 18 points and eight rebounds from Elias Harris and Robert Sacre added 17 and seven for the Bulldogs.
