Wall grabs lead at Sicilian Open

RAGUSA, Italy, March 18 (UPI) -- Anthony Wall had a bogey-free, 4-under-par 67 Friday and bolted into the lead of the European Tour's Sicilian Open in Italy.

Wall had a pair of front-side birdies and an eagle at the 12th hole in moving to 9-under 133 halfway through the tournament. He's two strokes up on Richard Green, who also shot 4-under 67, and Raphael Jacquelin, who had a 2-under 69 in the second round.

Five players, including first-round co-leader Stephen Dodd, are tied for fourth at 5-under 137. Dodd shot 1-over 72 Friday. He entered the day tied for first with Jose Manuel Lara, who ballooned to a 4-over 75 and is at 2-under and tied for 20th for the tournament.

Wall's birdies came at Nos. 4 and 7. The eagle at the par-5, 530-yard 12th hole was worth the lead.

Green had six birdies but also had a double-bogey 6 at the 10th hole. Jacquelin also had a double bogey -- his came at the sixth hole -- and four birdies.
