ST. LOUIS, March 12 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk netted the go-ahead goal in the third period Saturday, sending the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-3 victory over St. Louis.

The Red Wings led 3-1 entering the final period but yielded two goals in less than 3 minutes to David Backes and Matt D'Agostini, who assisted on another score.

Datsyuk, however, blunted the Blues' comeback when he potted a wrist shot with less than 7 minutes remaining, followed only 1:10 later by an insurance tally from Justin Abdelkader.

Niklas Kronwall added a goal and two assists and Jimmy Howard stopped 26-of-29 shots for the Central Division-leading Red Wings.

Adam Cracknell scored his first NHL goal for St. Louis.

Jaroslav Halak made 22 saves for the Blues.
