CHICAGO, March 12 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose scored 34 points Friday to send the Chicago Bulls coasting to a 94-76 decision over Atlanta.
The win for the Bulls, combined with a Boston loss to Philadelphia, moved Chicago within a half game of the Celtics for the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Atlanta had a three-point lead early in the second half before going scoreless for 7 minutes. The Bulls limited the Hawks to 10 points in the third quarter and took a 12-point cushion into the final period.
Luol Deng added 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for Chicago, which has won five in a row and eight out of nine.
Joe Johnson had 16 points for the Hawks, who dropped their four straight.
