Blake sets up meeting with Roddick

INDIAN WELLS, Calif., March 12 (UPI) -- James Blake set up a second-round meeting with Andy Roddick by rallying Friday to a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Chris Guccione at the BNP Paribas Open.

The opening round of the Masters Series tournament was completed Friday and seeded players will be in action Saturday for the first time during the second round.

Roddick is seeded eighth in the event.

Igor Andreev survived the first round by downing Kei Nishikori 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4. That earned Andreev a matchup with second-seeded Roger Federer.

Novak Djokovic, the third seed, will take on Andrey Golubev after Golubev routed Florian Mayer 6-2, 6-1.

Other first round winners Friday included Pablo Cuevas, Ryan Harrison, Ricardo Mello, Milos Raonic and Benjamin Becker.
