RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico, March 11 (UPI) -- Chris Tidland equaled the low round of the tournament Friday and moved into a three-way tie for the lead at the Puerto Rico Open.
Tidland shot a 9-under 63 at the Trump International Golf Club and shared first place at 134 with Troy Matteson and first-round leader James Driscoll. Matteson shot his second straight 67 and Driscoll had a 71.
Matteson is the only one of the leaders who has won on the PGA Tour, having twice captured the Frys.com Open.
Stephen Ames moved into a tie for fourth at 135 along with George McNeill and Hunter Haas. Michael Bradley and Ben Martin were both at 136 while two-time major championship winner Angel Cabrera was among those at 137.
John Daly, who was 5-under through the first nine holes in the opening round Thursday, finished 36 holes at even-par 144 and missed the cut.
