COL BKB: Temple 96, La Salle 76

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., March 11 (UPI) -- Ramone Moore helped No. 25 Temple dominate the second half Friday and the Owls reached the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 tourney with a 96-76 win over LaSalle.

Moore scored 23 points and the Owls put an end to the string of upsets that hit the tournament in the quarterfinals.

Top-seeded Xavier and No. 4 seed Duquesne both lost earlier in the day.

Temple (25-6) will meet either Richmond or Rhode Island Saturday, with a berth in the championship game at stake.

Khalif Wyatt added 20 points for the Owls, who shot 52 percent from the field and made 10-of-19 from 3-point range. Temple had a 10-point lead at the break and increased the advantage to 20 midway through the second half.

LaSalle (15-18) was led by 22 points from Aaric Murray.

No. 9 seed Dayton surprised Xavier in the opening semifinal 68-67 and St. Joseph's, the 12th seed, upset Duquesne in overtime 93-90.
