COL BKB: Penn State 36, Wisconsin 33

INDIANAPOLIS, March 11 (UPI) -- Talor Battle scored the final point of the game with 11 seconds left and Penn State held on Friday for a bizarre 36-33 victory over No. 13 Wisconsin.

The Nittany Lions moved into the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament, where they will meet Michigan State Saturday. The other semifinal will send top-seeded Ohio State against Michigan.

Wisconsin did not score a point during the first 7 minutes of the game while Penn State was taking a 14-0 lead but the Badgers came back to get within 32-30 with 4 minutes remaining.

The teams combined to score just seven points the rest of the way, with Battle's free throw giving Penn State its margin of victory.

Jordan Taylor missed a 3-point attempt for the Badgers with 5 seconds to go.

Penn State will take an 18-13 record into its semifinal meeting with the Spartans. The Nittany Lions were led by Battle with nine points but he made just 3-of-18 from the field.

Taylor scored 16 for the Badgers (23-8).

Penn State made 33 percent of its shots and Wisconsin 29 percent.
