NEW YORK, March 10 (UPI) -- Mike Marra made six 3-pointers and scored 22 points Thursday in leading No. 14 Louisville to an 81-56 win over Marquette in the Big East quarterfinals.
Louisville completed a sweep of the quarterfinals by the top four seeded teams. The Cardinals (24-8) will meet Notre Dame in Friday's semifinals. Connecticut will take on Syracuse in the other semifinal, with the winners playing for the tournament title Saturday.
Marra, who had a season average of 6.2 points a game, came off the bench to help lift Louisville to a big second-half performance. He made 7-of-11 shots from the field and both his foul shots.
Louisville outscored Marquette by 20 points in the second half after having lost in its regular-season finale to West Virginia.
Preston Knowles added 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for Louisville, which held Marquette to 29 percent shooting.
The Golden Eagles (20-14) were led by Jimmy Butler with 14 points.
Marquette had defeated Providence and West Virginia to get to the quarterfinals while this was Louisville's first game in the tournament.
