NBA: Boston 89, Milwaukee 83

MILWAUKEE, March 6 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce's 23 points and Kevin Garnett's timely basket late in the game Sunday keyed the Boston Celtics' 89-83 win over Milwaukee.

Pierce connected on 8-of-13 shots from field and the Celtics outscored the Bucks 7-1 over the final 2 1/2 minutes to pull away to their fifth straight victory.

Garnett's 11-foot jumper off a Rajon Rondo assist with 38 seconds left gave Boston an 86-82 advantage.

Nenad Krstic added 17 points, and Garnett finished with 14 and 11 rebounds for the Celtics.

Brandon Jennings put in 23 points and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute added 19 and seven boards for Milwaukee, which was bested by Boston for the 10th time in 13 meetings.
