MORGANTOWN, W.Va., March 5 (UPI) -- Darryl Bryant's two free throws with 0.6 left capped West Virginia's 72-70 victory over No. 11 Louisville Saturday.
The Mountaineers (20-10, 11-7 Big East) had tied the game on a 3-point bucket by Casey Mitchell with 8.1 seconds to play, and Bryant went to the line when he was fouled while pulling down a rebound on a 3-point try by Preston Knowles.
Bryant sank both ends of the free throw and a Hail Mary by Louisville (23-8, 12-6) was well short.
Bryant finished the game with 10 points. Kevin Jones led the Mountaineers with 25 points and 16 rebounds.
West Virginia shot only 33.9 percent from the field but dominated the boards 48-20.
Kyle Kuric scored 21 for Louisville and Knowles had 15 points.
