PROVO, Utah, March 5 (UPI) -- Jimmer Fredette poured in 38 points Saturday, powering No. 3 Brigham Young to a 102-78 pounding of Wyoming and a share of the Mountain West title.
Fredette was 12-of-24 from the field, sank four 3-pointers and went 10-of-12 from the free-throw line for the Cougars (28-3, 14-2), who rebounded from an 82-64 loss to New Mexico this week.
It was the second game for BYU since center Brandon Davies was dismissed from the team for breaching the school's honor code.
Charles Abouo added 25 points and eight boards for the victors, who needed a loss by San Diego State to Colorado State Saturday to claim the conference title outright.
Francisco Cruz had 18 points and Amath M'Baye added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Cowboys (10-20, 3-13).
