Hercog, who was eliminated in the opening round in three of her four previous tournaments this year, earned her semifinal berth with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Olga Govortsova.

The other Monterrey semifinal will send second-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova against Gisela Dulko.

Pavlyuchenkova defeated Greta Arn 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) and Dulko was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Ksenia Pervak.

Dulko has lost only six games over her last two matches.
