COL BKB: Notre Dame 93, Villanova 72

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Tim Abromaitis and Ben Hansbrough each pumped in 30 points Monday and No. 7 Notre Dame dominated 19th-ranked Villanova 93-72.

The pair were the first two Notre Dame teammates to reach 30 points in a game since Colin Falls and Chris Quinn did it in 2006.

Hansbrough and Abromaitis combined to go 16-of-23 from 3-point territory for the Fighting Irish (24-5, 13-4 Big East), who clinched a double-bye in the Big East Tournament with their 10th win in 11 games.

Notre Dame connected on a school-record 20 treys in the game.

Hansbrough distributed 10 assists, Tyrone Nash added 11 points and 11 rebounds and Carleton Scott chipped in with 10 points for Notre Dame.

Villanova (21-9, 9-8) lost for the fifth time in seven games.

Corey Fisher led the Wildcats with 22 points.
