COL BKB: Virginia Tech 64, Duke 60

BLACKSBURG, Va., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Jeff Allen led a group of five Hokies starters scoring in double figures Saturday and Virginia Tech upended top-ranked Duke 64-60.

Allen also hauled down 15 rebounds for the Hokies (19-8, 9-5 ACC), who made a strong case for an at-large NCAA Tournament berth with a signature win over the nation's top team.

Terrell Bell and Erick Green each added 12 points, and Virginia Tech used a 9-0 run late in the second half to pull away and win for the fourth time in five games.

Malcolm Delaney contributed 11 points -- including a crucial 3-pointer with about 2 minutes left -- and Victor Davila also scored 11 as the Hokies beat a No. 1 squad for the fourth time in school history.

Duke (26-3, 12-2), which regained the top spot this week, was led by Kyle Singler's 22 points and 12 rebounds.
