COL BKB: BYU 80, San Diego St. 67

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Jimmer Fredette connected on four 3-pointers en route to 25 points Saturday and No. 7 Brigham Young bested fourth-ranked San Diego State 80-67.

Charles Abouo added 18 points, Noah Hartsock chipped in with 15 and Jackson Emery contributed 12 for the Cougars (27-2, 13-1 MWC), who emerged with the win in a key Mountain West Conference showdown.


BYU downed San Diego State for the second time this season, accounting for both of the Aztecs' losses this season and breaking their seven-game winning streak.

The Cougars also snapped an 18-game home winning streak for the Aztecs (27-2, 12-2).

Kawhi Leonard managed 17 points and 13 rebounds for San Diego State in the loss.
