COL BKB: Florida 71, Georgia 62

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Kenny Boynton hit three straight 3-pointers to help No. 13 Florida pull away down the stretch Thursday and the Gators went on to down Georgia 71-62.

Georgia trailed by a single point when Boynton connected on a 3-point shot with 7:13 to play. After Trey Thompkins scored for Georgia, Boynton made two more 3-pointers in a span of 26 seconds to give the Gators a 61-53 advantage.

Boynton finished with 18 points and Florida (22-5, 11-2 Southeastern Conference) opened a three-game lead in the league's East Division with three games to play.

Chandler Parsons added 16 points and seven rebounds for the Gators and Erving Walker had 15 points. It was Florida's sixth straight win.

Georgia (18-9, 7-6) was led by 20 points from Travis Leslie and 16 from Thompkins.
