NBA: Philadelphia 117, Washington 94

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Jure Holiday was one of seven Philadelphia players in double figures Wednesday and keyed a third-period surge that propelled the 76ers past Washington 117-94.

Holiday scored 20 points, helping the 76ers win for the fourth time in five games. After opening the campaign with a 3-13 record, Philadelphia is now within one game of the .500 mark.

Thaddeus Young added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Evan Turner had 15 for the 76ers. Philadelphia outscored Washington by 19 points in the third quarter and took a 24-point cushion into the final 12 minutes.

The teams split their four games this season.

Washington, which has just one road win all year, was led by 21 points and 12 assists from John Wall.

The Wizards announced prior to the game they had traded guard Kirk Hinrich and forward Hilton Armstrong to Atlanta for guards Mike Bibby and Jordan Crawford along with swingman Maurice Evans and a first-round draft pick later this year.
