Cabrera-Bello leads Avantha Masters

NEW DELHI, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Rafael Cabrera-Bello, despite bogeys on two of his last three holes Friday, owns the lead in the second round of the European Tour's Avantha Masters.

Play was suspended because of darkness with golfers on the course for a second day. Thursday's tournament start was delayed 3 1/2 hours by fog, pushing the schedule back. With many golfers having to complete their first rounds Friday, about half the field wasn't able to finish the second round.

Organizers said the second round will be completed Saturday and the third round will start immediately after the cut and pairings have been determined.

Cabrera-Bello had a 3-under-par 69 in the second round and is at 8-under 136 for the tournament. Six golfers are tied for second at 7-under. That group includes Shiv Kapur, who shot a second-round 7-under 65 and Thongchai Jaidee and Jeev Milkhia Singh, who only got 11 holes in in their second rounds before play was called.

First-round leader Robert-Jan Dersken was 2-over after nine holes in his second round.

Cabrera-Bello opened the second round with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 10 and 11 and matched that at the 15th and 16th holes. He got to 5-under for the day with a birdie at 6 but hit a shot into the water on No. 7 and ended up with a bogey. He also bogeyed No. 9, his final hole of the round.
