NHL: Detroit 6, Tampa Bay 2

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk scored twice Thursday in leading the Detroit Red Wings to a 6-2 win over Tampa Bay in a meeting of division leaders.

The Red Wings let a two-goal lead get away, but then scored four straight times to win their third in a row. Detroit maintained a six-point lead over Nashville in the Central Division.

Niklas Kronwall broke a 2-2 tie with a power-play goal at 16:34 of the second period. Justin Abdelkader scored before the period was over, and then Datsyuk and Darren Helm tallied in the third.

Datsyuk has 16 goals for the season.

Jimmy Howard made 38 saves to get the win.

Dwayne Roloson gave up all six Detroit goals on 31 shots. Tampa Bay slipped to 5-3-1 with three games remaining on its 12-game homestand -- tied for the longest in NHL history.
