NHL: Vancouver 4, Minnesota 1

ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Corey Schneider made 28 saves and Manny Malhotra had a goal and an assist Tuesday in the Vancouver Canucks' 4-1 win over Minnesota.

The Canucks made the most of just 14 shots on goal in their eighth win in their past 10 games.

Jannik Hansen and Mikael Samuelsson had goals for Vancouver and Ryan Kesler knocked in an empty-net goal at the end of game.

Minnesota's Niklas Backstrom faced just seven shots on goal in the second period but two went for goals -- Hansen scoring on a backhander at 12:29 to give the Canucks and 2-1 lead and Samuelsson following with a goal at 19:41.

Cal Clutterbuck scored at 17:02 of the first period for the only goal for Minnesota, which had its three-game winning streak end.
