Thai couples lock lips for record kisses

PATTAYA CITY, Thailand, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Seven Thai couples broke the world record for the longest kiss on Valentine's Day -- and then kept on going.

The contest in Pattaya City started with 14 couples Saturday night but by Monday there were only seven left who still had their lips locked, as the clock ticked past the previous Guinness Book of Records mark of 32 hours, 7 minutes and 14 seconds, set in Germany in 2007, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The contestants couldn't sleep but they managed to eat, drink and go to the bathroom without breaking their embrace, the British newspaper said.

The last couple remaining when it is all over was to receive a diamond ring valued at $1,625 and a cash prize of $3,250, Time.com reported.
