SUNRISE, Fla., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Jason Garrison's slap shot with 2 minutes left in the third period found the net Sunday and lifted the Florida Panthers to a 3-2 win over San Jose.
Garrison's blast from above the left circle capped a late comeback that saw the Panthers erase a 2-1 third-period deficit and notch only their third win in 12 games.
Chris Higgins' goal midway through the third forged a 2-2 tie and Mike Santorelli added a marker for Florida, which broke a five-game home losing streak.
Florida goalie Tomas Vokoun stopped 28-of-30 shots, raising his season record to 19-18-4.
Antti Niemi made 19 saves for the Sharks, who lost for the second straight game. Kent Huskins and Joe Pavelski accounted for San Jose's scoring.
