NHL: Detroit 4, Boston 2

DETROIT, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Todd Bertuzzi scored a pair of goals and Jimmy Howard notched his NHL-best 28th win Sunday in the Detroit Red Wings' 4-2 victory over Boston.

Bertuzzi's unassisted tally in the first period drew the Wings even at 1-1 and his goal off a 2-on-1 break with Johan Franzen with less than 7 minutes left in the game handed Detroit a two-goal cushion.

Pavel Datsyuk and Kris Draper also found the net for the Red Wings, who swept a home-and-home series with the Bruins by a combined 10-3 score.

Howard turned aside 23-of-25 shots, raising his season's record to 28-10-3.

Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand scored for Boston, which fell to 5-2-1 in its last eight road games.

Tim Thomas made 32 saves for the Bruins.
